Message -Chairman Bernie Zadrowski
My Fellow Republicans:
Phones are ringing, fax machines are whirring,
and doorbells are buzzing. The CCRP office is alive
with volunteers and candidates who have committed themselves
during this election season to rise up and fight. Our
freedoms are under attack by the liberals, and we are
fighting right now to preserve them. As we look forward
to celebrating our nation's independence this Friday,
I hope you will join the army of volunteers that is
assembling. We need you to give your time, your effort,
and your money so that we can continue to fight for
our freedom, freedom from intrusive government, freedom
to be personally responsible, and freedom to protect
our families and our nation's borders. The battles are
real, and the campaigns of our various candidates really
need your help. Please allow me to update you on the
important work that is currently going on in the Republican
campaigns, and tell you specifically where we could
use your help.
Of prime importance, the McCain '08 Presidential
Campaign office has officially opened. Vaughn L. Ward,
an eager and hard working warrior, is leading the effort
in Nevada. I recently had the opportunity to be with
him when the office opened, and I can tell you that
this guy is all business! Vaughn was raised on his grandpa's
farm in Shoshone, Idaho and is a fourth generation Idahoan.
In the early 1990s, he worked for U.S. Senator Dirk
Kempthorne. Afterwards, in 1995, he joined the United
States Marine Corps, and in 2000 he left to go to graduate
school. After 9/11, Vaughn joined the CIA. He has had
tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq. Vaughn's wife,
Kirsten recently gave birth to their second child, William
Henry, who is named after his grandfather (William)
and uncle (Henry). His uncle died in combat in Vietnam,
a true American Hero. Vaughn is feverishly recruiting
volunteers for the election effort. Please contact him
at 425-8845, or by email at VLWard@McCain08HQ.com.
Of equal importance is the "RNC Victory
08" effort. It now has a director and is officially
open for business in Nevada. The very capable and energetic
Jessica Patterson is leading RNC Victory 08. A 2002
political science major at Cal State, Northridge, Jessica
cut her teeth in California as the Executive Director
of the Ventura County Republican Party from 2004 until
2006. She then became a regional political director
for the California Republican Party's Victory 2006 operation,
covering the Central Coast, Central Valley, and Bay
areas. Recently she worked for the Rudy Giuliani Presidential
Committee, where she served as Deputy Political Director
for California. From November 2006 until June 2008 she
also served as the Deputy Executive Director to the
New Majority, Los Angeles. Jessica can be reached at
258-9184 (CCRP), or by email at JPatterson@RNCHQ.org.
Both Jessica and Vaughn are going to need your help
if we are to be victorious in November. Please contact
either one of them as soon as possible. Anythinyou can
do to help out will be greatly appreciated.
In addition to the efforts on behalf of
our presidential candidate, Congressman Jon Porter's
office needs your help, as do our state and local candidates.
I've spoken and written about the importance of returning
Congressman Porter to Washington, maintaining our majority
in the state senate, and growing our numbers in the
assembly, so I will not say much more about that today.
We also need volunteers at the county party office to
man the phones and register new Republicans. I would
urge you to contact the CCRP office at 258-9184 so that
we can match your desire to volunteer where it will
help the most.
June was a great month for us. Republican
candidates and volunteers had an excellent month and
continued to work hard.
Richard Scotti, your Precinct Organization
Officer, recently held a very successful organization
and training seminar for precinct and assembly district
managers. Volunteers packed the CCRP Headquarters!
Senator John McCain has visited Las Vegas
twice, most recently delivering an important, standing-room-only
speech on energy policy at UNLV. Later on the same day,
he met with throngs of volunteers and dedicated the
McCain '08 Headquarters office at Pecos and the 215.
The 1st Annual All American Barbecue was
a resounding success, bringing together over 300 Republicans
who enjoyed a great barbecue while getting to meet our
candidates. There are some great events coming up, including
numerous candidate "Meet-and-Greets." The
Chairman's Ball in September will be an event to look
forward to. Look also for the CCRP Candidate Questionnaire
coming soon to our new and improved Website at: www.clarkgop.org.
It will give you insight into the thoughts and beliefs
of our Republican candidates. I hope you will contribute,
volunteer, and attend as much as you can.
Once again, I am compelled to tell you
how humbled and grateful I am to serve the Clark County
Republican Party. Your energy and enthusiasm has made
the difficult tasks both satisfying and invigorating.
I hope you will join me so that you can experience it
yourself. As the push to November increases the need
for help from volunteers, I ask you to take part in
the effort that will bring us victory.
Sincerely yours,
Bernie Zadrowski,
Clark County GOP Chairman
