Message -Chairman Bernie Zadrowski
My Fellow Clark County Republicans:
I realize that you are now, in the "heart"
of the election being inundated with e-mails, letters,
campaign commericals, and all other sorts of media directed
and designed to convinced you who to vote for on November
4th. As always, I want to tell you again that our Republican
candidates need your help, and I beseech you to answer
their call for support. for those of you who are making
phone calls and knocking on doors on behalf of our Republican
office-seekers, thank you for your hard work and dedication.
Today, however, I am contacking you, not
only as the Chairman of the Clark County Republican
Party, but also as an American who is greatly concerned
about the financial crisis that is being experienced
right now on Wall Street. Quite simply I am wrinting
you to ask you so contact our elected representatives
and tell them to hold firm to the fundamental cornerstones
up which our great nation was built, and which continues
to make her that shining beacon of light high upon the
hill. I am speaking, of course, about the fundamental
belief and reliance in both free market capitalism and
the principle of freedom from excessive government intrusion
into our daily lives.
I am sure I am not alone in wondering
alound why it is that when bad investments are made
by private institutions which are now faced with closing
their doors, this problem suddenly becomes the problem
for YOU AND I to fix. Why do our leaders, especially
our Republican leaders, who should be fundementally
opposed to this idiocy, believe that it is the government's
responsibility to reach into our pockets and pay for
the foolishness of private businesses and institutions?
Moreover, if the federal government does act foolishly
and decides on implementing a massive bailout, the question
arises what assurances do we have that the fundemental
evils that caused this problem are going to be eliminated?
How can we be assured that some time in the future we,
or our children aren't going to AGAIN have to pay for
another crop of multi-million dollar CEO golden-parachute
and severance checks? As I ponder these questions, I
have to ask some even more basic questions, like whatever
happended the the Reagan Revolution? What happened to
our Republican free-market principles? Where do we draw
the line and say, enough is enough?!?
Americans stand at a "fork in the
road" having to make a major decision that will
have lasting, fundemental consequences that cut to the
core of what America IS. The dicision will have consequences
for our children and the America they inherit from us.
Do we take the road that abandons our principles so
that a few "fat cats" on Wall Street and theirwilling
accomplices in government can continue to make bad business
decisions? Or, do we chose the right pathe, the one
that recognizes and respects our American values and
the fundemental belief that the proper role of government
is not to intervene in the exclusive chaos of private
institutions? I believe we should chose the latter,
and that we should not sit lethatgically by and watch
the idealogy of America be flushed down the proverbial
toilet while those who are responsible for the fraud
and corruption that fueled this "crisis" are
held unaccountable. I urge each and every one of you
to contact your elected representatives and tell them
you are not responsible for the mess that private institutions
and a meddling, greedy federal government accomplice
have created, and you should not be required to bail
them out.
Thank you, again for your commitment and
hard work. On behalf of the Clark County Republican
Party, know that our thoughts and prayers are with you
through this difficult time.
Yours in Republican Service,
Bernie Zadrowski,
Clark County GOP Chairman
