COLUMBUS DAY MESSAGE
Today we celebrate Columbus Day - a day
to remind ourselves that Capitalism works, and is right
for America! A great capitalistic spirit motivated Christopher
Columbus to seek glory, wealth, title, and enlightenment,
as he sought new trade routes to the East. He challenged
the conventional wisdom that the Earth was flat. In
doing so, he landed at the Caribbean Islands in 1492,
and introduced the European peoples to the American
continental coast.
Thus began a new era of achievements for America. America
offered great opportunities for immigrants fleeing crippling
economies, and political and religious persecution.
The European immigrants brought to our land cultural
diversity, a drive for freedom, and self-determination,
as well as the most important tenet of our society,
that "all men are created equal."
On the 400th anniversary of Columbus's first voyage,
the year 1892, Republican President Benjamin Harrison
declared Columbus Day a legal holiday. Let's continue
the tradition, and give thanks to a great explorer who
created the opportunity to those who followed to make
the United States of America the greatest nation on
earth!
Please help us, your Republican Party, to continue the
fight against the liberals and socialists who would
destroy our legacy. Your contribution of $10, $20, or
even $100 would be greatly appreciated, and used wisely.
